Well, one assumes you will want to be staying in Cairo then?

If so and you want a great view of the Pyramids, I would suggest either the Mena House Oberoi hotel or Le Meridien Pyramids as they are probably about as close as you can get!

But what else are you planning? Will you just be staying in Cairo or do you have any other plans?

To be honest, I would recommend basing yourself in Luxor and taking the overnight train to Cairo and spending a night in a hotel before travelling back on the night train to Luxor. That way, you get to see pretty much most of what there is to offer for sightseeing in Cairo, which will give the opportunity to visit the Pyramids, the Boat museum, the Cairo museum, Mohammed Ali's Mosque and shopping in the Khan el Khalili bazaar plus take in the sound & light show at Giza if you fancy it. You will also get to visit the Valley of the Kings, Queens, Luxor temple, Karnak temple, Hatshepsuts temple etc in Luxor in a decent hotel by the river Nile.

Bear in mind, these two places are some 900 miles apart!

Yopu can go inside one of the pyramids. It is very low ceiling height and you have to bend over as you walk along. (And I'm only 5ft 4ins.) It is pretty claustrophobic. But good to think you have actually been inside.

I think your best bet is to go on holiday to either Luxor as previous poster suggested, or Sharm el Sheikh on the Red Sea or Paphos in Cyprus, and do a day trip to Cairo from there.
