We are moving to Turkey and I want to teach English as a second language. Is there anyone who is doing this or done it and can offer any suggestions or advice? I have read about TEFL/TESOL and other certifications for teaching English. Which is best or necessary for finding decent teaching jobs over there? Also is it better teaching in an educational institution or doing private teaching? And any other information you might have to offer that would be informative and helpful. Thank you for any thing you have to offer.
Tony
Hi Tony. Are you a qualified, experienced teacher in UK? If so that would be a start. If you are looking at TEFL, a short course is inadequate, you need to be looking at the full courses. I was offered a teaching job in a large private school on the basis of having qualified teacher status and UK experience but others say you need TEFL or CELTA. I didn't. Legal work in Turkey though is very difficult to obtain as you must have the work permit and that can be tricky. You must find an employer who would be prepared to get that for you and not all will. Good luck with it.
and I find an''english teacher'' job for you
