We've booked to go on the Emerald Princess in February 2009, crusing 6 different caribbean islands. We fly into Miami and stay overnight. We sail from Faut Lauderdale the following day.
I've applied for our ESTA requirements for entry into the USA, but on the information sheet i have it states :-
*British Subject passport holders must obtain a full US Visa direct from the US Embassy*
So my question is do we need to get the full US visa, or is the ESTA approval all i need?
Thanks for your time
That will depend on the type of passport you have. If you have a British Citizen's passport as opposed to a British Subject, and can meet the other criteria, then I think you only need apply for an ESTA. You should receive a reply stating whether your application has been successful.

We have the purple European Union ones, i presume thats a british citizen one?
Please don't presume, check and it will be clearly stated on the passport.
