We're considering Dalyan for next summer as we enjoyed Bitez very much last year but would like to see a different part of Turkey.
Is there much to see around Dalyan? We went to Ephesus & Kos last year from Bitez, both well worth the effort.
Also has anyone stayed in Asur Hotel or Club Alla Turca? I've read reviews & both sound great. Has anyone any opinions? (I prefer a child -free zone but these aren't.........do you think that would be a problem...I think they both have children's pools which sounds good as long as the pools are clearly designated)
Any info much appreciated!! ( or any other destination which you have particularly enjoyed!)

akyaka is around 20 miles from marmaris and 25 ish from icmeler, so you could do day trips to both these places, and possibly go to rhodes from marmaris for a day if you like the greek islands, dalyan is also not far away for a day trip. as far as kid free if you go to most parts of turkey during school hols you will find kids . tc have some packages to akyaka or you can do diy which is what we always do, akyaka takes a lot of beating for the scenery and beaches, ive travelled to a lot of places in turkey and this is by far the nicest ive been too. good luck with where ever you decide
The ASUR hotel is WONDERFUL... mainly adults ,as those with littleones stay in the apartments which are situated 200yds from the hotel..the rooms at the hotel are small but very good and have a mini fridge and tv. and also air conditioning ..i have stayed twice before and have booked again for end of May for a week and must say am looking forward to it,breakfast at the ASUR is first class and of course inc. in the price.. this hotel has its own website so you can take a look... quite expensive if you book direct with them but i managed to book with Thomas Cook for a great price of £303 per person inc. flights from Stansted and transfers...much cheaper than D.I.Y.
Vivviaan, we've looked at both web sites & they both look fab. We definitely favoured the Asur,( and your recommendation sounded brill) until we saw the large sun canopies at the Club alla Turca which look as if they give great shade. This is really important as I have to travel in July when it'll be scorching.
The parasols at the Asur look quite small & as you're the expert did you find them adequate or are there other shady areas? A bit mad I know to even think of holidaying in Turkey at that time. I love the heat but hate direct sun.:hot
Your advice on this would be much appreciated!
thomas cook do packages but forgot to say akyaka is listed under gokova incase you couldnt see any packages. anatalian sky do packages too link http://www.anatoliansky.co.uk/Home/Turkey/Holidays-in-Akyaka.aspx
I never travel in JULY or AUGUST as i dont lke the scorching heat ,The parasols are fine at the ASUR and the pool is fantastic to take a dip and cool off in,there are also shady places in the gardens and sun shades on the jetty with the sunbeds and the hammock with a canopy above...i do think you will love it there....it's a great place to relax
The asur is 20 mins walk into town..... and rooms in the hotel are in wooden chalets which are small
Think we've nearly settled on the Asur. It advertises itself as appealing to 'adults' so think it probably offers quieter accommodation.
If its as good as everyone says definitely sounds our type of place. Theer seem to be plenty of good restaurants in Dalyan too? would that be right? What's the the food like at the hotel?
FABULOUS choice of food in the restaurants, and so reasonable pricewise.earlier this year i ate for as little as £3.50 in the market place and up to £10 in some of the riverside restaurants ... i highly recommend the B.B.Q. garden near the ASUR for a wonderful oven cooked 1/2 leg of lamb with veggies and a wonderful bread starter .....can't help much with the evening meal at the ASUR as i liked to try the village restaurants but as i said before, the breakie is 1st class... you will love it in DALYAN and especially the hotel.....
We prefer B & B so that we can eat in different restaurants in the evening too. I like the variety.
Thanks again for all your help. Now I just can't wait!!
