we are looking to take my Dad away for his 81st birthday in mid-February. He is extremely fit for his age.
We have never been to Tunisia before, but have read all about it.
We are looking at the Thalassa Monastir Hotel - all-inclusive. It is a Thomson Platinum, but are the majority of visitors English?
Any info on this hotel or any any other suitable hotels would be very gratefully appreciated.
I have read that the weather can be variable at this time of year, but what are the flies like at this time?
Many thanks
Hi Shaz, If the hotel is the Thelasso Village, Skanes which used to be the Club Skanes Garden you will see quite a few reports on it in the Hotel Review section, most of which are extremely positive. The only negative I would add is that there is not a lot to do in Skanes itself out of the hotels and you would need to get out into either Monastir itself or Sousse. This might not worry your dad and it is extremely easy and cheap to get around by taxi. As you know the weather can be very variable - my first visit about 10 years ago was in February and it was absolutely beautiful and I came home with a lovely tan, but when I was there last Feb it was much cooler. Many Brits choose to spend a large part of the winter in Tunisia but I don't know the proportion at that particular hotel.
Many thanks for your help.
I forgot to add that you won't see many flies.
