i was there in april 13th for a week(2008) and some shops and bars where closed at the start of the week but by the end of week, more were getting ready to open.i think i was there 1 week to early so i would say most would be open by the end of april start of may
1 May has a sort of status as the official start of the season in whichever resort. It's rather misleading, though it has some purpose in that many a work contract will run for six months from 1 May. There are plenty of places that are open before then, but somewhere like Hidropark (the water park in Alcúdia) always leaves it till the start of May - not surprising; too cold.
Thanks for your help, have thought about coming over at Easter, is the sea still VERY cold then?
Typically, the sea temperature in April is around 16 degrees, but it can be and feel colder if the weather is poor. Personally, I reckon it is cold, too cold for me anyway, but if the sun is out and it's warm, then plenty of people will brave it.
Thanks for that, now the other end of the season whats it like end of October? both sea temp and amenities.
The sea temp would normally be higher then, but if the weather has been poor it may be roughly the same. As for amenities, if you mean what is open generally, then the port area will still be all going, but the Bellevue area may be partially closed. It tends to differ year to year.
andrew was spot on with the info
