Evening everybody, Need some help here please.
We are going to Spain for xmas having booked an apartment through Hotelopia.com. They have sent us an e mail which is a voucher for the accomodation we have paid them for.
Getting a little bit nervous about this now, as we have never gone "DIY" before. Anyone heard of or used this company before?
Did post this request on the Costa Blanca discussion page and was very kindly given a link to the website for the apartments themselves. Have e mailed the apartments but not had a reply. Have also tried ringing the apartments and also the head office of the company but nobody speaks much English and I can't speak Spanish!!!
Thanks.
Kim
We are just back from Spain. We used Hotelopia - No Problems at accomodation , e- mail booking slip accepted without question. Must admit they operate in a suspicious way though!! We received 2 seperate confirmations on initial booking. We were concerned they would try to take 2 payments. E- mailed them - was assured they would only attempt 1 payment. Checked with Credit Card Company, they had tried to take payment twice!!! After several e - mails and phone calls, they admitted they had made an error and only drew 1 payment. When trying to contact them using their freephone number we discovered their Customer Relations Lady, Marcia Atkins, operates from Majorca. We learned this after using the same freephone number and talking to another lady in the Basque Country!!! They are part of First Choice Holidays PLC , but we got the impression they were operating out of private accomodation. We phoned Marcia on a number we were given (0034971170541) and a guy simply said she was out and put the phone down. Eventually Marcia did sort out the problem. We also booked another apartment thru Winter Sunshine Holidays/Sandiacre Travel on the net. They were cheaper and good. Try them next time. Travelling DIY is cheaper and better. STOP WORRYING - Have a great time.
By the way, when I tried to book with Hotelopia on the internet I couldn't manage to send the payment over the net so I rang them On speaking to them I asked if they were in Spain and they confirmed that they were. I explained that I had tried to pay on line so she checked the transaction history and confirmed that the payment hadn't gone through before continuing with the booking.
It's only because it's our first DIY that I was a little worried!
Thanks again, oh and happy christmas!

Hi Kim, I stayed at Avenida Apartments easter 2002, they are some of the nicest and cleanest apartmentsI`ve stayed in. Try phoning them direct on 96 683 07 28 this is the number of the apartments or hotel. You may of tried their central reservation number before, when I visited the staff on reception all spoke good English. If they don`t have your reservation by name it could be that Hotelopia don`t forward names till last minute most companies operate this way including the large tour operators, hope this is some help.
Can anyone tell me if they have had any experience under their Price Guarantee.? Has anyone ever been able to contact them on their website or had any e-mails back. Unless they start responding I will not use them again.
I meant to post an update when we returned from holiday but I haven't had time so just to let you know that everything was fine with Hotelopia, I was definitely panicking for nothing! But hey, it's what women do best!
Also used Viajes Alameda to book a taxi transfer and that was excellent as well.
Will definitley book any further holidays independently so thanks for your help.
Oh, by the way had a lovely christmas and new year in Spain.
Cheers
Kim
I emailed Hotelopia and asked why. At first they seemed reluctant to answer and when I pointed out various differences, they replied with this answer, so now we all know why.
Quote: "The difference comes from the fact that though the two companies Hotelopia and Easy Jet Hotels sell one and the same product they have different marketing strategies and different target groups. Moreover Easy Jet Hotels though separate from Easy Jet Flights are bound in a way to match the low cost flights that Easy Jet Flight offer with a low cost hotel accommodation".

Just thought I'd mention that Hotelopia seem to have become cheaper and on a lot of hotels I've looked at they seem to be cheaper than Travelrepublic and its good to know they are owned by TUI and therefore very unlikely to go under.
So would you recommend these as a good choice for booking with? Always nice to get feedback on those whom have used before?
Hotelopia have become part of Tui since the merger with First Choice, but teh fact that they partner with Easyjet and lots of other premier brands would definiteluy give me the confidence to book with them. If they're cheap as well, then it sounds like a winner !
Thanks for that - sounds good - will definatley bookmark that one - wish I found it a few weeks back when we booked our stay in London.
make it 10% cheaper by using 9363 in promotion box, every penny helps
Make it another 10% cheaper and go through Quidco.
I have just priced a holiday on Hotelopia and I noticed that at the bottom of the booking page it mentions Tui Travel Plc
Every hotel I looked at has now got dearer again
I,ve just looked at website and your right the prices have shot up.I booked yesterday and the hotel I booked has gone up by £69.So glad I did it when I did.mind you I haven,t booked flights yet but when I saw the hotel I wanted at such a good price decided to go for it.Sit tight now and wait for decent price on flight
I used hotelopia when booking my accomodation for Krakow as they gave the best deal for the hotel i wanted. I booked first for my daughter who is going a couple of weeks before us and used the 10% off code but when we booked ours for the same hotel it was cheaper via their link through easyjet.
Use 31245630 as a discount code to receive 15% off.
Where did you find this code?
I priced a hotel last week with the 10% code and with using the new 15% code the price is exactly the same as it was.
A bit stupid really as anyone without the code will consider Hotelopia a "rip off" compared to other booking agencies.
