Golf in Turkey

Belek consists of nearly all 5 (or more) star hotels along the entire stretch of its sandy beach. Each hotel has its own beach with loungers and sun decks. The town of Belek is small with a few designer shops, twice weekly market and not much else. If you were looking for nightlife outside your hotel then you need to take the 30 minutes cab ride to either Antalya or Side in the other direction. Hotels have entertainment and discos but more family orientated.

We stayed at the Cornelia Deluxe Hotel last year and it was fabulous. Men played four rounds of golf and they found the golf courses excellent. Us ladies lounged around pool, had turkish baths in the spa and relaxed.

We go to Belek for the golf also, well hubby and son, me I am a non golfer, but find there is always other wives and girlfriends to hang around the pool with and have a chat or swim.
Nightlife in Belek is hotel/resort based but very good with nightclub, shows and entertainment every evening.
As Dadooronon has said outside of hotel you have to go to Antalya or Side.
Here is a link for you to look at, also I could send you a document by e-mail which has all the hotels and golf courses, and other info, if you wish.

The golf is excellent, depending on if you prefer a good hotel based show or a **** up down the local, there are several bars to choose from in either Belek or Kadriye. Bar Brekar, Irish Bar, Roman bar are the ones more frequented than others.

I will answer! The original poster enquired firstly about the golf & if I'm not mistaken, they then asked about the nightlife in the area.
The answers he received where obviously from people who have no idea what goes on beyond the confines of there high walled hotels, believe it or not, the area in-between Belek/Kadriye mostly consists of holiday homes, so there is actually life outside the hotels...
I may sound as if im getting up on my high horse but I find it disgusting that people visit these AI places and have no idea of their surroundings, im surprised most know what country they are visiting.
Previous postings suggest you visit Antalya or Side for the nightlife, I visit these several times every few months so can the experts tell me exactly where to go? As far as I can see, Side is just a few hotels spread out along the one road whilst Antalya is a city spread out in several directions covering Lara, Konyalti etc. Don't get me wrong, if your offering advise your obviously an expert. :sun2

Have you actually ever been to Side? It is a large town set on a peninsular, with a beautiful harbour, loads of shops, bars, restaurants, Roman ruins (Real ones - not like the concrete ones in Belek) and a restored Roman ampitheater, and two great beaches. You obviously didn't look properly!!!

Please folks, keep discussion friendly.

The topic may be titled 'Golf in Turkey', but Steview has asked about both golf and nightlife.

Some people do get upitty!

Golfers usually have quite a keen interest in bars. (The one's I know anyway)

If you are paying golf for a good part of the day you won't have time to find interesting off the beaten track places.

It is a good idea when using these forums to give a complete overview, that will include accommodation, bars, hotels and restaurants. We stayed at the Sun Zeynep but would not recommend it to my worst enemy as the management where rude and over indulgent. I can recommend this area for golfers any time of year the weather is mild in the winter months - better than the Algarve. Your wife will enjoy sight seeing in Side and possibly shopping whilst you are golfing. Another member recommended the Roman Bar - now I can say from the start my view of this is entirely as a frequenter. When we were bored out of our brains in the hotel we phoned the owner of the bar who arrange free transport from the hotel and he personally laid on special entertainment and protected my daughter than 15 from the advances of the local lads. Invariably what started out as the three of us ended up with all Brits piling on the bus every night total of 14 - brilliant holiday apart from the hotel :tup
