Literally just got back from Tenerife on Friday and just starting my research into our Summer holiday. We spent an absolute fortune in Tenerife, prices were ridiculous because of the Euro. We've done Turkey to death and need a break from there, a few people have recommended Dom Rep to us and I'm just wondering if you think it would fit in with what we want from a holiday?

We're a young couple, 20 yrs old. We will be looking to chill out for a couple of week, post-Uni exams. We don't want a 'party' place (i.e. Laganas, Kavos) but don't want somewhere completeley dead either. If we went to Dom Rep although we would be going AI we would still probably want to eat out a couple of times. We would like to do a few excursions (couldn't have two weeks of just sunbathing all day every day!) and like to have somewhere we can wander about (shops etc) to waste time away. We want hot hot hot weather and nice beaches. Something quite high up on our list of 'must haves' for our holiday is a short transfer from the airport. We like to stay pretty central, close to the action.

So, any recommendations?
