Hi All,
Staying in central Paris Thursday to Monday in Feb, flying to/from CDG.
What is the most economical travel pass?. A 5 day Paris Visite Zone 1-6 pass is approx £50 which I believe would cover all trains etc from CDG and around the city. Is it better to pay the 8/9 euro fare from CDG and then buy a carnet(s) of metro tickets for use in the city for seeing the sights?. Any advice from your experiences would be much appreciated!.
Thanks.
Can't really help you on the pass, but I think that you'll use a Carte more often than a carnet of tickets, and have no qualms of using the whole of the transport system without counting how many tickets you have left. But there are probably many wiser members who will post and help you more!
It's many years since we were there, but if I remember correctly we got a Paris Visite pass for all zones including Versailles. On reflection we should have just got one for the main area and paid the extra on the day to visit Versailles as that was the only time we used that zone.
