I was wondering what Porec is like for a woman on her own? I have read it's clean and a pretty resort, I like a place with character and no rowdies! Another thing that distresses me is stray animals, do the locals look after their pets?
Any comments really welcome.
I went to the Dalmatian coast in Croatia, around Dubrovnik, last summer. Although I was with my husband I did go off on my own at times. Apart from being chatted up by a guy whilst I sat looking at boats in the marina ( I was old enough to be his mother!), I was never approached or whistled at. I'm fairly normal to look at, a bit overweight but nothing extraordinary (either good or bad!). We were in Istanbul earlier last summer and I was constantly being harrassed by men, even when I was with my husband. I definitely felt safer and more relaxed in Croatia. I don't recall seeing any distressed animals.
Thanks
