thinking ahead for 2010 does anyone know of any hotels that do free kids for 13 and over. my daugther will be 13 in summer 2010.
there will be just hubby and I and daughter we usually go a.i but will consider half board.
any recommendations welcome then can start looking in april/may.
only want packages not diy.
thanks tracey
Hope this helps.
Most Fiesta hotels in Ibiza give child prices up to 15 or 16.
i know the san miguel in ibiza does a.i for up to 16 years cos we when there in 2007 want somewhere different though, don't like to go same place twice unless it was outstanding.
think we were typing at the same time. i did'nt mean i would'nt go to ibiza again just not the san miguel liked it but not much in the resort, and like to try other places.
will have a look at the fiesta hotels are any of them all inclusive.
thanks tracey
Palladium Palace is AI,Don Toni,Palm Beach are HB but you can upgrade to AI or drinks only when you get there,we used to just have the drinks option which lat year worked out about £400 for 2 adults and 1 child for 2 weeks, just ask at reception on arrival,or e-mail for this years prices.
I have seen several hotels in Benidorm, Majorca, Ibiza and the Costa Brava which do child prices up to age 14, 15 or 16. I used to find these hotels by looking through the brochures, easier to spot child ages on brochure pages than on a website.
The holiday was booked through Airtours who have subsequently been taken over by Thomas Cook.
I agree with Cyber in that it does seem easier to spot these by looking through brochures, also they seem to change year on year. I think the Hemera in Side also used to give child prices up to age 14.
I got a child price up to 14 for the Hemera in side on an early booking with direct holidays . It did change to 12 a week or 2 later and Ive seen it change backwards and forwards a couple of times since.
You really have to shop around. We are going to the Tropicana Grand azure in sharm this August and have booked with first choice who have the child age upto 13. If we were to book the identical holiday with Thomson, they have the child age as 12 and consequently £700 more. So not a free child place but a huge difference in price. I think TC had the child age as 11!! Don't know if we had booked a lot earlier whether there would have been free children or not. Normally we book as the brochures come out to take advantage of the offers, so worth just sitting on the computer when the prices come out and looking around.
There is usually a reduction for 3rd adult sharing so remember that you won't necessarily be paying x 3 adults full price.
thanks for all the replies i will check out the hotels that have been recommended when summer 2010 hols start to appear in april/may.
hotel america callas de mallorca done free kids up to the age of 16 with first choice dont know if they still do good luck
Balkan Holidays offer quite a few packages with child prices/free places over 13, some up to 16. They are listed in the conditions at the back of the brochure, or on the web page. We got a free place for our 13 year old last August (2008) at the Sol Nessebar Mare (1 of 3 hotels on the same complex), and she loved it.
Looking for a bit of advice. My eldest child turns 13 in April but we don`t intend to go on holiday to July.Whilst I was pricing our usual trip to Ibiza the differance in price is approx. £400 if you enter her age as 13 compared to 12,ie no child price. When we were on holiday this year no one checked or asked me to confirm her age and I am seriously thinking of entering her age as 12.Has anyone did this before. The hotel in question still gives discount to children 15 and under so it would only be the check in staff for the flight who may query it although as I have said no one did this year.Any advice appreciated.
surely her ticket will be for a child, also she'll be booked into the hotel as a child, and any hotel i've checked into abroad have asked to see our passports, so will be able to tell from the passport possibly?
Read the small print. You will find somewhere that it asks for the age on the date of travel.

At some point in the booking process you will have to put in her date of birth, The computer system with then flag up that she is an adult price and will not let you proceed with booking her as a child.
The only way you could do this is by lying about her DOB when you input it on the screen i.e. subtracting an exact year from it.
I wouldn't do it as it's fr@ud and might invalidate your booking at somepoint if you were ever found out. (insurance claim maybe) But then some people are risk takers and others aren't.
Thanks for the replies.I was only ever asked by the travel agent what my childs age was last year although it was no big deal as I booked a Fiesta hotel and they were giving discounts to children 15 and under.I have tried to book the same hotel for next year but Thomsons have sneakely changed the age to 12 although Fiesta still give reductions as before. This to me seems to be just another money maker for Thomsons.
Your probably right. Cant you book direct with Fiesta again this year ?
