We are off to Malta at the end of March for 5 days and have decided, for the first time ever abroad, not to hire a car as people tell us that the bus service is so good it is not necessary to hire a car. However, we are planning to go over to Gozo for a day and have also heard that the bus service on that island is not so good. I would like to ask those who know Malta and Gozo well, what would be the best recommendation for the trip to Gozo i.e. should we hire a car just for that day and, if so, is it relatively easy to hire a car for a single day or should we go on a organised tour of Gozo. ? Alternatively, can we depend on the public transport on Gozo ? Any advice gratefully appreciated.
