My wife won 2 flights and we are trying to use them to get to a Greek island, The airline flys into Athens via a change in Germany, problem is it gets into Athens at 17.35 hrs, would this leave enough time to get across to Pireaus to get a boat to Aegina? I have checked a couple of ferry timetables but they are still on Winter programmes, and the hotel we have penciled in says the last one is about 7-8 pm which is a bit vague.
We are trying to do this on a bit of a budget so we do not want to have an overnight hotel stay in Athens.
thanks for any help
http://www.openseas.gr it might be helpfull. You might also need to prebook for the islands closest to Athens because of the number of Greeks escaping for the islands especially at weekends
Try
when we went to aegina a few years ago, we flew to athens and then transfered to a hotel for a couple of hours, then picked up and taken to the ferry at about 3.00/3.30 am. we reached aegina about 5.30/6.00 am. it was an old ferry, not one of the flying dolphins.
