Hi all
Can anyone out there suggest somewhere to stay within walking distance of Kings Hall and reasonably central for sightseeing. Not fussy people just somewhere not too expensive and clean.
Thanks
The Premier Inn is nice and not that expensive (£60 a night last January). I'm not completely sure where Kings Hall is but I think it's near the hospital which is about 15mins walk away (go south from the PI). Aside from that we found the hotel very central to everything in a fairly quiet and safe area of Belfast. Breakfast was great but at £7.50pp was a bit expensive. Just up the road from the Premier Inn is a Bagel cafe, good options for breakfast or lunch.
There are some nice bars and pubs in Belfast and the City Sightseeing tour is a must. Enjoy!
The Kings hall is around 2 1/2 to 3 miles from Belfast city centre hotels. There are no hotels within easy walking distance from the Kings hall so just pick a cty centre hotel and use the bus servce which is frequent untill around 23.00 hours.

Belfast Christmas Market returns next week, Nov 17-Dec 19... one of many good reasons to visit our city in the run-up to Christmas.. in the grounds of the recently, re-opened after refurbishment, City Hall... all manner of weird and wonderful foods, goods and intoxicating vapours, as well as the obigatory mulled wine. Attracts thousands upon thousands of visitors, many on weekend breaks from the UK and Republic (making the most of the exchange rate).. new hotels seem to be opening here almost every week to accomodate the influx, latest being the Ibis... another superb attraction, recently re-opened after a makeover, is the Ulster Museum, 10 mins walk from city centre... Belfast is a walking city... and Tourist Board owe me for this free plug!
I love Christmas Markets - but hate the crowds - I want to be the only one there
Know the feeling.. it gets really packed at night and when the surrounding offices get out for lunch and after work. I'm lucky to work just down the street so I can avoid the peak times.. we had a Spanish girl on exchange last Christmas and she loved it so much, she's coming back this year, just for the atmosphere.. not to diss my own town but Manchester Christmas Market is also very good.. our setting is better, though.. forgot to mention there's also a big wheel in the City Hall grounds, shoulder to shoulder with the market.. and the tree, of course.. there's also a half decent bar to one side of the City Hall, called The Apartment, with a huge panoramic window, where you can sit in the warm and watch the throng..
