Can someone tell me how long it takes to get from Rimini to Milan, and rough return costs
I am going to Cattolica in 7 July, and now I have found out U2 are playing in Milan, wont make 7 July, but it looks like there could be a second date 8 July, if this is the case, I am intending to go
http://www.trenitalia.com/trenitalia.html - once loaded there is a link to English on the top line. The journey could take anyhting between 2'20" and 4' depending on the type of train and whether you have to change (usually at Bologna). Type of train is something the Italians are far too fussy about and it does affect the fare. Eurostar Italia is nothing to do with Eurostar as we know it.
At present the system isn't giving schedules for July but picking the same day of the week in June should be a pretty accurate guide. Be aware of the choice of stations in Milano, the main one is Centrale but some regional trains use Lambrate and Porta Garibaldi instead.
Fares are as variable as in Britain. You can pay up to €36 each way but with a little effort and advance booking you can get it much lower than that, have a look at the Amica link. The good news is the site explains all this quite well in English. The online reservation system is also quite good because you don't have to have the tickets posted, in some cases you can print them at home and you can also opt to have an airline style reference number and get the tickets out of a machine when you're there.
