I would say 3 days in Krakow is plenty to have a relaxed stroll around it all. Add a day for a visit to Auchwitz and a day for a visit to the salt mines. There are other tours available as well, but an entire week in Krajow may be too long.
We spent 4 days in Krakow and found it to be ideal . We haven't been to Zakopane yet - it's at the top of our list.
