Family holiday with 2 adults, 1 child (5) and 1 infant (1.5). Cost wise Ledra is cheaper (and AI) whereas Amathus is half board and dearer. With the exchange rate as it is, I'm favouring Ledra whereas the missus is keen on Amathus ! Are the local shops (supermarket, etc) and restaurant near Amathus ?
Any opinions for or against either hotel ?

I would say that the Amathus is a better grade than the Ledra. I cant tell you anything about the hotel itself, apart from that it is near the triangle area where there are a couple of shops and some restaurants.
The Ledra Beach isnt far from the triangle. Im not sure about childrens faclities at any of the hotels, although I have stayed near them both.
If I had the choice as an adult I would go for the Amathus, but unfortunately as I say cannot tell you about childrens facilities at either.
