I've just read the reviews on TA (stayed there in 2000 - NEVER AGAIN!) I note that the Palm Court/Qwara Inn is rated #17. I wonder what state the other 3 lower rated hotels are like?

The Palm Court was completely closed down when we were at Club Salina Wharf (we passed it everyday on the way back from the shops). It looked a very miserable place

It would be interesting to be updated of the developments in Malta regarding the timeshare touts as we have seen for the last 2 years the touts have to have an ID displayed prominently. We were also told by the salesperson that our details were recorded and handed in to the local government offices and we would not be allowed to see the same place in that portfolio within 18 months as they were clamping down on them.

In Cyprus, it's been a big problem for a number of years, more particularly along the harbour and seafront area in Paphos. Here, the touts have no ID's and apparently are a constant menace (can't say for certain as we don't go to Paphos very often - it's somewhere we tend to avoid). We've been told the police do arrest them on occasion and the developer pays the fine and they are back on the streets in no time at all. In the last week, it's been reported in our local Cyprus news that they have now started going into hotels, bars and restaurants looking for ways to get a lead.

Maybe Malta could teach Cyprus a thing or two, if they have something up their sleeve?
