Nissi is the Milton Keynes of eastern Cyprus.
As previous, the monastery in Napa is about as good as it gets.
Cape Greco...historical? :rofl That'll be the Byzantine radio masts, then.

There are a couple of places dedicated to the 1974 invasion and division of the island at Deryneia, a few miles north.
Famagusta town is fairly historical, but it's 'up north.'

History in the south seems to start at Larnaca and go westwards.

The sunset has been there for millenia, so that's historical, I suppose.

Hei there.

In my view the beaches of Protaras and Agia Napa are excellent, whereas the beaches of Paphos are of a lower quality (based on my criteria of calm, clear waters, and light coloured sandy beaches). The area of Agia Napa doesnot have a Unesco World Heritage site (such as Paphos and its mosaics), nor is it near to Akamas peninsula or Troodos with their many picturesque villages.

However, besides the monastery, there is the Roman cemetary at Macronissos (not that impressive) as well as the very small Agia Thekla church (carved in the rock - just next to the modern church).

The walled town of Famagusta is certainly a worthy site, which, even though is in a bad state, it nevertheless gives glimpses of its previous state as one of the most wealthy cities in the middle east during medieval times (you would need a car and your passport to cross to the north part).

There are also interesting sea caves and rock formations between Agia Napa and Cape Greko.

Hope you enjoy.
