We play a variation of the supermarket game, it is always alphabetical (we started it to help the kids with their alphabet when they were smaller) but it has to have a describing word, so it can be I went to the supermarket and I bought an angry apple, a burst balloon, a crafty cat and so on. Its a great game to play when walking a long distance as the kids dont realise how far they have walked as they are concentrating on the game.

Oh Susan - after a few lagers & cocktails, I don't know whether we could cope with that. It's hard enough remembering what shop we're in :rofl :rofl We'll definitely give it a go on the next holiday though.

We had some very strange looks in Santorini, when our balcony was in a fairly public area - 4 adults with neon yellow sticky notes stuck on their foreheads :rofl

We have had some laughs with our games Helen haven't we? Those same people who used to pass us on our terrace in Santorini always used to smile at us though and appreciated that we were having a good time. Had to laugh, when we were playing the sticky note game in Bulgaria, one of the staff who was trying to improve her English came over to us and started reading the names on our foreheads out loud - she couldn't understand that she was giving the game away lol.

We've had a couple of the Supermarket game where instead of going to the supermarket we've gone to Anne Summer's :really I think we al learnt a thing or two there :rofl

Actually we sometimes play a game with my daughter and one of us say's something like 'first one to spot orange shoes' or 'first one to spot a red handbag' as we were sitting outside a bar! Also my wife has a ford Puma so theres usually a first one to spot a Puma which can run for many days as they are quite rare in Spain / Tenerife. etc

I play this type of game in the car with my grandchildren Chivas - keeps them amused for ages.

Our favourite game is 'Beat the Mr and Mrs'
Only joking but it is quite satisfying to beat 'Mr and Mrs Corner' to their usual prime position on sunbeds
around the pool.
Expect you know who I mean -they set off in the dark so it seems like they have been there all the holiday.
They never speak, especially to each other and never buy drinks!!!

Another game that we quite enjoy is how quickly we can get a drink on entering the hotel!
That is good one. Very popular too!!! Bet you have done it!

Dominos is good - Uno cards blow away. The yes and no game can get too loud but it is great fun.

My husband's favourite pastime is stretched out on his tummy on a lounger doing a Suduko -
trouble is, he drops off to sleep with his pen in his hand so there is always ink on his towel and a blue line
running down the paper!!

Will try your game next!

i play games with the camera shops on a night time after ive had a few. ( i never actually go in the shop) i just get them to come out to me and ask if they have got certain model of camera (i always make a model number up) and insist i will only buy that camera and nothing else will do. i love to see them with a puzzled look.

My sister & I love people watching on holidays, & give many of them a nickname - for instance we once saw a lady who looked exactly like our mother, so for the rest of the holiday it was "here comes mam". :D By now even our hubbies join in. It's so funny.

Last year we toured and one lady in the group bore an astonishing resemblance to Tommy Cooper! We christened her 'Tommy Cooper's mum'. It got to the point that when she got on the bus I just had to turn to my wife and do a silent TC impression with the hands and shoulders and she would be in fits of laughter.

Bizarrly we went to the holiday show at the NEC a few weeks back and who should we bump into but this lady and her husband. For the rest of the afternoon my wife would not walk with me because I kept making her cry with laughter! Just like that!

I'm sure one of hubby's favourite games is seeing how long he can stay asleep on the lounger - believe you me - that game can go on for hours :rofl :rofl
