we have not long returned from palmanova, stayed at the santa lucia hotel, took our grandson whos 3 and he loved the fact that every 200 yards or so there was a park, which we thought for people with young children was ideal,

I've also stayed at the santa lucia and thought it was great. Try searching santa lucia on this forum, as there have been numerous people that have mentioned the hotel under other post headings

Santa Lucia is a fine hotel -
We found the Son Matas Beach Hotel to be slightly better but it is adults only (I think over 12's)
The draw is the position of both - literally a few steps and you are on the fantastic well kept beach.
Sol Cala Blanca Hotel is also good and all are within a few steps of each other.
I would recommend that area to all ages because there is so much to do, all in walking distance.
There are many hotels and apartments around but those three hotels are the best located - no road
between them and the beach and they all have pools. After spending the day on the beach the last thing
we want to do is walk up steep hills back to a hotel - with those all you have to do is a hop, skip and a jump!!!!
I have just written a similar review about Torremolinos and I think Palma Nova is on a par.
Both places have been popular with holidaymakers for years and I can see why.
Always happy to help.

since when as a spainish law stated that you have to be over 12 to go on abeach??

Think you might find that the poster meant the hotel is adults only (over 12s) not the beach.

there are lots of shops around the santa lucia hotel, and a great ice cream parlour to the left of the hotel, also found a showbar further into palmanova, near mcdonalds.the staff were very freindly and after an evening with them let us out of a back door so we didnt have to hump the pushchair down the steps and low and behold right outside the door was another little play area, sorry dont remember the name but it was up some stairs and above shops next to mcdonalds they had entertainment and karaoke too and were very welcoming.
