No problem as long as it doesn't put your hand luggage over the weight limit.
Braun gas tongs must now go in hold luggage.
Sorry nuttynet. Jay is correct I didn't think of gas tongs as you only mentioned electric items. If you have gas tongs legally you are only allowed to carry the one gas cylinder that is in the tongs, no refils.
I put a gas hot brush in both cases as I dont know what I would do if they went missing. 
Sorry to sound dumb but do you have to put liquids and electricals in hand luggage?.
