Hi you're welcome - yes there are lots of handbag etc shops. In front of your hotel, cross over and walk the other way away from the airport and you will find Al Khan and La Strada malls with shops of all kinds. By your hotel just a few up from Churchills cafe there is a shop that has 60% off in the window and there are some nice mens, womens and kids clothes in there. Got grandson designer tops for about £4. He also had some really nice fake designer jeans and mens shirts and Abercrombie jackets. Also few nice handbag and shoe shops along here - few doors down nice one selling D & G really nice high heels with wooden heel for about £25.

Old Market you can get fake mens D & G, Armani, Quiksilver etc T shirts for around 40le each and the cotton is really good quality better than Turkey and washes really well.

The Lebanese is apparently shutting! and being replaced by KFC - taking over 3 units and Mc D's also coming to Grand Mall.

When are you going in June?? I fly back out 20th.

Having recently come back, I was a little disappointed in the shopping Malls at Nabq. They are new and nice and clean but it was a really dead.

If you haven't been to Sharm before even though you get hassled a least there is life in Namma Bay.

We walked over to both of the Malls most evenings after we had eaten, one night we were the only 4 people in one of them :yikes I'm not sure if its because all the hotels in Nabq are AI and people stay in to watch the entertainment (not our thing) after they have had their dinner. One night we were also the only people in Starbucks for a coffee. Another night just us and a couple of Egyptians using the free Wifi but not buying anything. :rofl

We many have been unlucky, and they are worth a look, but I dont want you to get your hopes up and then be disappointed. The shopping is nothing like in Turkey.

Have a great holiday. The hotels up this end are superb and the weather is always fantastic.

i think you could be right with most people going for all inclusive they probably dont tend to wander about the resort much because you want to make it worth while for what you paid for AI.

i've heard the entertainment isnt up to much in our hotel so i can see me and my partner taking a taxi into naama bay. in turkey last year the hassel was very annoying but by the end of the holiday i'd learnt how to ignore them politely and it didnt bother me as much. does anybody know what the nightlife is like in naama? is it quite lively? thanks x

Not sure about nightlife as such as we are a family, there are a couple of clubs, Pasha I think, but there are lots of shisha cafes lining the main road where you can go in and sit on the cushions and have a drink, also many restaurants and bars, all the normal favorites like Hard Rock Cafe, Pizza Hut etc, there are Egyptian shops selling spices, loads of shops selling beads and necklaces. They string them for you there, you neeed to keep your wits about you especially if you are interested in buying and make sure you don't pay over the odds.

As you say you get hardened to the hassle in the end. It's either that or staying in your hotel every night which can wear a bit thin for a week.

Don't get me wrong, it's worth going and having a wander around the Malls at Nabq we might have just been there at a very quiet time, but it's a much more sterile experience than wandering round Namma Bay, which has much more life to it. A lot of the hotels in Namma Bay are Bed and Breakfast so people go out for their evenings to eat and drink.
