going there my self 2 adults and 2 kids, i am taking £1800 self catering, same as i did last year we did the tours hired a car ect.. and i bought 4 bottles of nice smellys. and 33 sleves of ciggys ;) so in all i am sure you will have enough spends if you are half board aswell. we average each day 100 euros. if there is any left i put it aside each day it soon mounts up as long as you do not go to silly, but at the same time don't be too tight on your self :tup

Hi Vicjayhay,
I would say that £1500 sounds about right for you as you're on half board. Have a great holiday.

Thats great the last thing I want to be worrying about is money whilst on holiday, I think most of us are going to get away from that ;) .

I think that will be enough for you as you are going half board, obviously there will be offers to be had on meals for when your not eating at the complex and as you say you are not big drinkers same for us we managed quite well last year in puerto rico and still had a fantastic time did not scrimp neither and we were SC also visited Palmitos park, dolphin trip etc.

Well it won't be too long before your there so just enjoy yourselves, we won't hesitate to go back to GC and when we do are thinking about going to the Altamar as it seems a popular choice :)

we were on HB lanzarote, spent E900 in the two weeks. 2 sandwiches and two large beers, 15E. bottle of wine evenings, few drinks, coffees, quick adds up

I had wondered this as well.

We went to Euro Disney in Feb for 4 days and spent £600 and all of that was pretty much on food. :yikes

I guessed that it will be cheaper than that but I wasn't sure by how much given the weak pound at the mo. There's 5 of us, 2 adults, three kids 3, 8, and 9 and we're going SC in July to the Altamar and were thinking of taking the same amount, and not eating out every night and making our own lunches etc rather than just buying bar food because it was there.

I'd heard the restaurant was quite reasonable for buffet etc at night so will no doubt do that but I don't want to have to be worrying about money when I'm there.

Now I'm thinking I should take more?...... :think

Hi digs, we are also going in july, we upgraded to half board from self catering and it only cost us an extra £300, though that was back in September, worth looking into though :tup .

I tried that this morning and they wanted an extra £825, :yikes which if you work it out isn't that much of a saving overall.

Never mind, I'm going on holiday so who cares, I'm not going to worry about it. Anyway, being Scottish I'm sure I'll find ways to save us some money ;)

I go to Gran Canaria quiet often !
We are a family of 4 and in 2 weeks spend around £1800, thats us being SC we say have about 4 brekkies out in that time (flicks is best place for a great english brekkie in the europa centre puerto rico) the rest on the balcony just buying stuff from the shop.
Lunches we have round the pool normally or pop down to Ma Bakers pasty shop.
Evening meals wwe go out every single night and we dont scrimp we go for fillet steaks, nice italians , meals down the beach etc and normally have 2 courses each plus drinks. Then we do like a drink and stay out everynight til about midnight drinking in xtreeemz.

So £1500 when your HB should be ample.

Also that includes us maybe going on 2 trips and kids doing trampolines, rock climbing and arcades most nights.

Enjoy your hols......im off to turkey AI for a change this time but was only in GC in feb! Love the place!!!!!!

Oh if you do a trip id recommend Garbos as an evening trip its a dinner show and fabulous ! We went last yr and my boys were 7 and 2 and we all loved it.
