Bitez is the closest to Bodrum, it is a smallish resort with lots of lovely restaurants and some very good accomodation. I would particularly recommend Basri Apartments, they are set back a few minutes from the beach but the rooms are clean, spacious and quiet. There is a nice beach, some parts are shingly but others are nice and sandy.

Ortakent is again a smallish resort a bit further on and is very popular with Turkish tourists, which makes it cheaper to eat and drink out. There are lots of nice restaurants there and the beach is very good, sandy and quieter than Bitez beach.

Yalikavak is the other side of the peninsular and is a smaller resort, set round a pretty harbour. There are bars and restaurants and a narrow stretch of beach. It is very laid back in Yalikavak and picturesque.

All 3 resorts are very nice, I haven't actually stayed in Yalikavak or Ortakent but I used to visit for the day when I was living in Bodrum.
