I an in Portugal at the moment and looking at the bbc weather web site but cannot get the video forecast to play. Does the bbc
block outside the uk viewing.
By the way it's hot and sunny and the hotel Pedra dos Bicos Albufeira is to be recommended.
much of the bbc.co..uk website is blocked to non british ISP's have tou tried bbc.com i belive this to be the world wide service [but you cant get it in the uk] or bbc.net/weather
I can play the weather video from bbc.co.uk without problem - I am in Albufeira. Don't click on the big 'play' icon in the middle of the screen, click on the little 'play' icon bottom left. Why I don't know, but it works.
and yes I have tried the small play button which also doesn't work.
The layout seems different than at home with the video forecast at the bottom
instead of a little way down on the right.
prehaps the bbc is blocked by the isp your using... cant think of anything else
I have just been on the bbc.co.uk weather and the page has a different layout to what it has been over the last few days. As you say the video forecast is now at the bottom of the page instead of being half way down the page on the right.I am online in the UK.
I will try the computer in reception.
So the layout is the same as at home now angie.
Thanks all.
Just tried the hotel computer and it wont play the video so it must be the isp.
I have today's European video forecast running as I write. My local ISP in Albufeira is SAPO.

Just to check, I have also played the video forecast for South East of England.

You can see the local weather forecast, in English at http://www.meteo.pt/en/index.html no video, but it does have pretty radar pictures to tell you where the rain is.
We are going back home tomorrow.
I've mentioned in a PM to original poster that the other possibility is that their download speed is so slow that the video simply cannot play. I am 2.5km from the exchange and my speed is averaging 4Mbps (of an alleged 8Mbps service) but often drops below 1Mbps, so streaming video sometimes just doesn't work.
The speed in Portugal where I was trying to play the video was about 12mbps.
Back home where I am now it is about 4.5mbps and plays perfectly.
