after hubby decided he didn't fancy a mediterranean cruise I abandoned that idea and started looking at the Panama Canal in April next year. However, at the weekend we saw an amazing Australasian cruise on the Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Sea for this October/November and guess, what - we've booked
Still reeling from the suddeness of it all but am really excited about the whole thing. Just one question - does anyone know if the ship has wireless connection for your own netbook (like to keep a blog) or can you only use their internet cafe?
Rosalyn
you we jumped in and booked thought it was a great deal, flying out 2 weeks pre cruise and visiting family
in Melbourne, then on to Perth to join the cruise hope you have a great time, let me know how it all went
when you return

The repo from Vancouver to Sidney via Hawaii looks like it could become a good deal if the flights can be found.
Rhapsody has Hot spots at various places on the ship for WIFI users, but not in-cabin.
hotel+transfers included, flight to Perth[we changed this to Melbourne]at no extra charge ,we are paying our
own single flight to Perth from Melbourne,2nights pre cruise Parmelia Hilton Perth also included
18nights cruise on The Rhapsody [check itinerary for March 15th 2010]cruise ends in Sydney with 1 night accommodation
again included [we have added a further 3nights at our own cost]flight back to Heathrow via Hong kong again we have chosen
to stay 2nights.cost per adult in a outside large cabin deck 4 £2,009 only extras we are paying are for 3nights Sydney 2 nights
Hong kong with this deal Cathay Pacific only allow you 45days out of the country,so a good price [ fare to melboure returning
from Sydney £946 Todays cost with Cathay Pacific brings the cost of the cruise and hotels to a good deal]
We booked this at easter time i think the package has now changed with flights to Singapore but still good.

We are likely to get some extended free time over the winter so these very long haul trips south become viable for us.
Around £2k for a package that include a cruise, flights and some accomodation, with the possiblity of extending time(at extra cost) is good
Windjammer, our cruise is slightly different. Booked through Cruise 1st it was in last Saturday's Daily Mail and for roughly the same price as Ann we fly out at the end of October this year with BA. Included in the price is a 2 nights stopover at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore and 1 night in Perth before doing the cruise (I think itineraries are different - we do Southern side of Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand) before reaching Sydney where we have a night in a hotel before flying home via BangKok.
There are a few itinerary options, ideal would be with a NZ start end, can't start the serious search for a couple of months, the key will be how we extend the trip if we can do it.
looks a very interesting cruise, 2 of our family that live in Melbourne have now booked to cruise with us nice to have company.

Would really love to hear how you enjoy this cruise, we are booked on it in 2011, yeh, I know its a long time off, but we got a really good deal, so booked it. Australia is only just beginning to get a good selection of cruise ships coming here, I suppose we are a long way from anywhere and usually we have to fly to USA to get on a cruise, but I love to cruise, have done cruises in Hawaii, Alaske and the Polynesian Islands and loved them all. We are really looking forward to the itinery of this cruise as we havent been to New Zealand yet, so would love to hear from anyone doing this cruise.
