hello everyone
i am going to hisaronu this year on the 5th july for 2 weeks for the first time.
have been to greece for my last 12 holidays but as the euro is so low at the moment, thought i would give turkey a try as always fancied it and quite looking forward to trying somewhere new.
could anyone give me any information on how much a meal in a turkish restaurant would cost? would i be able to get something for around 10-12 lira?
also how much would a snack at lunchtime cost, like a kebab in a takeway place cost?
i have heard spirits and mixers would cost me over 8 lira so think im going to be on the beer this holiday. how much would an effes cost in a small quiet bar compared to something bit more busier like atlantis bar?
wanting to also do a day trip on a boat with a meal included, any idea how many lira this will cost ?
i will be staying at the hotel marcan, anyone know whats its like? read on some reviews that your not allowed to take any food and drink into your room unless its brought from the hotel shop and that will be double the price and dont fancy doing that. we are on bed and breakfast there so would be nice to have a few beers before we go out for the evening, thinking of putting any food we buy in a bad and i hope they dont see this. anyone else have this problem before in any hotels they have stayed in?
i hope some people can help with my answers
only another 4 weeks till im off
many thanks
athina
If you look around you will find a quite few places where you will be able to get something to eat at a resonable price. And the same at lunch time in take aways or small bars, you would pick something up even cheaper. The imported spirits and mixers are a little expensive but, if you stick to the local spirits and beers they are resonably priced, with a large efes in some bars last year as cheap as 2-3 lira. The music bars around 6 lira i would guess.
Shop around you could get a day boat trip for around £8, and great value too.The taking of food and drinks into hotel rooms rule is pretty common, we used to take some bits and pieces back in our beach bags and never had a problem. It is very unlikely that they will do a strip search.
Sorry dont know of the Marcan location. Hope this is of use, i am sure you will have a great time.
have a look at my website it is quite informative and has some downloads of video just to give an outline of hisaronu and the surrounding area's
Find the Santana restaurant on the left-hand side of the main strip in Hisaronu. Don't go too late and make sure that you ask for their set price menus - they are great value!
