Returned from a week in the Delfin Verde last Thursday. Agree with the comments about the food - there was plenty of variety on offer so you will always find something you want but there was nothing particularly 'special' or fancy.
There is plenty of seating for the entertainement although we were there at a fairly quiet time but yes there is also seating outside. We had a room on the 2nd floor at the front - could not hear any noise from the entertainment in our bedroom - except when sat on the toilet (for some reason!!!).
We only had one power point in the bedroom and one in the bathroom - but we managed fine.
The hotel is really quite nice - we had a great time - no problem getting a sun bed (although as I said the hotel was not too busy when we were there). Beach is hardly any distance at all and staff are very helpful and friendly.
I have asked Thomas Cook to request a pool facing room. Would it also be advisable to e-mail the hotel also?
failing that if you e-mail reservas@marina-hotels.com you will also get a reply.
I hope that this helps.
Thanks for that!
Off on Monday - can't wait. Just wondered if there is a lifeguard on duty at the pool. If so, is he very strict in that he won't allow inflatables or is he quite easy going?
Yes I am sure that there will be a life guard as by Spanish law any pool over 200mtrs has to have one, they are normally on duty from 10 until 18.00.
Normally they allow lilos etc, but within reason, there is a kiddies pool as well in the Delphin and plenty of sunbeds, the entertainment this year is fantastic aparently, so you will have a good time.
Take a good sun cream for the littleones.
Cheap mozzie idea is to take Jiff lemon in a squeezy bottle and put it on the littleones at night when you go out and when they go to sleep, this way they won't get bitten. It doesn't smell and it is not sticky. Mind their eyes of course! This should prevent you all from getting bitten!
Have a good holiday.
Thanks so much for your quick reply The reviews for this hotel are fantastic - we are all looking forward to it. I will post a review when we get back.
I live in Alcudia so I am sure that you will have a lovely time!
Just back from this hotel - it was brilliant! Review posted but if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.
Do they have a dress code for the evening menu ? Or its casual ware ?
No they didn't apply a dress code - there was a sign outside saying that long trousers should be worn but this wasn't applied. Most people including my husband just wore shorts.
Hi there, we've looked at this hotel for a week next may. We have been informed by direct holidays that we'll all fit in one room, that is 3 adults, one child and one monster, (sorry, I meant a baby who'll be almost 2 by the time we travel !!). Will this be a very tight squeeze or are there larger rooms? It appears that direct holidays are selling only one type of room.
Me and my partner have just booked to go to this hotel in September and I wonder if anyone has been here recently? I have seen some good reviews online but would like some more information.
Also I would like information on Alcudia itself with good places to visit, pubs, entertainment etc.
Thanks in advance
Chasline
Hi - we are staying at the Marina hotel in October and are considering hiring a car from the airport instead of doing the usual transfers. I know the Marina doesn't have any parking of it's own but I need to know if there are any parking restrictions in the roads around the hotel.
Right by the hotel there are normally some spaces on the road. If not, there shouldn't be any problem nearby. There are no restrictions or charges for parking.
the entertainment team at the time was fantastic , Not sure if it has changed, enjoy x
Its now not shown on the Marina Hotels group page - they are down to 3 hotels in Majorca. Would like to return as we had a fab holiday there but would be apprehensive if it has changed ownership.
Not aware of its having been sold. It is on Thomas Cook as Marina Delfin Verde for 2011. Though even if it were exclusive, strange it's not on the website. Will try and find out.
I have just been on the Marina hotels website, clicked on all inclusive hotels on bottom of the page and this hotel then appears, hope this helps. It has certainly put my mind at rest as we are booked to go next July.
