Thanks. Did you take Jamaican or US dollars? Was thinking of doing a mixture and paying for the trips on a credit card. Don't think I can afford diamonds so spending will only be on the usual holiday souvenirs - pressies for Grannys and such like)

hi joyceb, we just took US dollars, no problem, but try to get as many 1dollar notes as you can for tipping or bartering ( great fun, got some good bargains that way !) although if you venture into some towns, JA dollars would be handy, they accept US, but the change you get would probably be in jamaican.

I would definitely just take US dollars.

We did Dunns River and the price was 40USD per adult and 24USD per child including return bus. I think that was a wee bit expensive, as Beaches seemed to have the monopoly on tours in the hotel and the Virgin rep told us they weren't allowed to sell theirs. Worth buying some water shoes here to take with you to Dunns, all in all it's a great experience.

I brought back the tour sheet (bit sad, I know !!) so if you want any other prices just shout.

Hope u have a ball as we did

Katy, do you know can you pay for the trips (assuming you booked them through your t/o) with a debit card? or was it just credit cards they accepted?

Thanks

I almost 90% sure it only credit cards but maybe worth asking at
travel agent

Sorry for not being much help

Thanks everyone for the advice. I think I will take mostly US dollars. Miss Pink I don't think you will be able to use a debit card. They wouldn't let me pay for trips that way in Mexico so I reluctantly applied for a credit card for this year.

OK Joyceb noted, I will have to ensure I take sufficent US dollars with me, don't have or want a credit card. Perhaps I can pre-book a trip with Thomson in UK before departure might give them a call.
