I've just had friends come back from Caya Levantado (last week). Their feedback was very positive and said it's one of the best hotels they've ever stayed at. Food quality was excellent and rooms were large and well appointed. The only negative is there wasn't much to do with it being an island but as a chill out holiday, they said it was fantastic. If there was a dive centre on the island, I'd be very tempted to go myself!

Went for a couple of days last year when staying in Punta Cana - given the chance because of the overbooking fiascos in Punta Cana early in 2008.
IT'S FABULOUS - My wife and I would really love to go back for a full 2 weeks sometime in the future- yes, its quiet but the views,grounds,beach .......We were in one of the suites in the villas scattered around the grounds - the best accommodation we have ever stayed in - huge balcony,four poster bed, huge whirlpool bath ...
We were there late February - we sat and watched the humpback whales from the beach early in the morning - magical!
