My partner & I are going to sunrise island view on 30th December so we will be there for new year. What was the food like? Some people are saying that the rooms were very dated,is that true? I would love hear what you thought of it...

I went and had a look round the grounds and the reception last week when I was at the Hilton, since we are staying there in November - looks really nice! Jane, do you have to book for Fatima's? Liked the location of this restaurant.

The food was lovely - well presented and a very good choice, i don't think even the fussiest of eaters would have a problem finding something they liked . You do have to book for Fatima's, and you get a lovely meal there, but, I must admit, that, presonally, i preferred the choice in the main restuarant.

Our room was lovely and spacious and looked out over the pool with the swim up bar . It was very clean and had everything we needed.

I loved the hotel, and will definately go back in the future.

Hi iv used this site over the last few years and all the holidays we have booked have been off the back of the wonderful truthful reviews from here! altho since i was last here iv had to change my user name due to having a new e-mail address and forgetting my password not that that matters lol still here i am after booking next years family holiday to eygpt im so excited all ready and im sure i will have loads to ask so brace your selves! its also our 1st time going AI and with 2 teenage boys who are constantly hungry i hope we have made the right choice, i just wanted to say a quick hello as no doubt i will be on here quite abit , what i would like to ask is does anyone know what night time entertainment we can expect?to be honest we arent party goers but enjoy sitting drinking and chatting with back ground music,we also will have our 8yr old son so im hopping there will be some thing for him to do but hes pretty easy going and like most kids will happiley make friends-after reading reviews on quite a few hotels being domineered by pushy rude other nationalities can anyone tell me if the sunrise has this problem? many thanks,look forward to any replies cheers sarah

The entertainment in the evening is pretty low key. Most people gather round the two main pool/bar near the reception area. Tip the staff well on your first first to the bar and you will never need to visit the bar again because they will automatically refresh your drinks for you, its brilliant.
After about 10pm there is buffet food available again. Definitely great if youve got hungry teenagers, its mostly chips, burgers, chicken, rolls, etc.
You will have a brilliant time and its a nice hotel and the staff are very friendly. Any questions please feel free to ask.

Just back from this hotel. I have done a review now, but if anyone needs any futher info just ask. My experience seems unfortunately to differ from others, but I have just given my honest opinion on how it was for me.

I know Ive said it to you twice today already but gutted for you .

This hotel has been on my list for a few years now but never managed to find it at a decent price . It's getting scrubbed off now .

Thanks for your concern ladies. We have been in a bit of a sorry state since we came home - neither of us has had a meal yet (and we got home early Friday!). Will just put it down to a bit of bad luck - we haven't had a holiday this bad before, so hope it is a one off!! On this occasion lots of research didn't pay off which I think is unusual, but at least I will have saved you from it Lyn!!!

Now come on Pat, what did you really think of the hotel

All the reviews for this hotel seemed to be positive until the last couple .. however the last post on this was back in 2009 ??

Has anyone been to this hotel recently ?? the reviews seem to have got better so im hoping the one from Meerkat was down to a bad experience on their part ?

Myself, my wife and 2 kids (7 & 1) are going in July 2010 .... any help would be much appreciated ??
