Every year, without fail, I go to some place in Italy, and usualy decide between two resorts

Cattolica or Lido De Jeslo

If you find a place you like, what's the harm in making it your holiday home from home? I really don't see the issue

I've been to most of my holiday places more than once

Issue? Can't see where this topic has been into an issue.

It's a discussion in which OP just stated interest in different peoples views.

Yes thank you Judith, Its not an Issue and I don't see any repeat visitors as sad or boring I was just looking for opinions.

As I stated in the original post each to there own .

This is purely a discussion topic please lets not look for argument .

We go on more than one holiday a year, and have the same idea as Shirleyv. We try to go to a new place every year but often also revisit somewhere else. A holiday is what you want it to be. If you are happy with one destination and want to return- why not? :)

I'm off to Salou for the 19th time on Wednesday, love the place.

I always go to other places in between and have been to Australia, lots of the Spanish resorts & islands, Rhodes and many of Europes city destination but I still can't wait to get back to Salou!!

3 Days and counting!

Mark :cheers

I usually take 4 foreign holidays a year spread throughout from Jan to Dec. I've done this now for the last 10 years or so.

I always go to Cyprus at least once a year & as long as 1 destination from the 4 is new I'm happy and this then might become a favourite depending on whether I enjoyed it or not & therefore I'll probably go back.

It's a great way of seeing the world :tup

I have been to Santa Ponsa in Majorca 4 times & three of those were spent in teh same private villa - no particular reason, apart from the price. Although I hadn't realised it until now we seem to go to the same country twice although different resorts - Zante twice, Mexico twice, Kos twice, Ibiza twice, only once for Santorini - so far- & this year its a 1st for the Dom rEp.

must admit, have been to places where ive thought 'crackin holiday, must come back ' but never have done. We love to have a gander round different places and explore, but I wouldn't rule out re-visiting somewhere if we'd had a good time, for example, we got back from jamaica a coupla weeks ago and had a really great time, did as many trips as the time/funds would allow, but we would have liked to do other trips only we ran out of time to do them, so maybe one day.....
I wouldn't slate anyone for going to the same place again, but I would say, massive world out there and loads of adventures to be had !!

I must admitt when I have been back to the same place a second time the thing that I miss is the anticipation of going somewhere new. On the plus side the familiarity of going to a tried and tested resort or accommodation can be quite comforting. I've been to some placees three or four times, Florida springs to mind, but I have always stayed in different accommodation as its the opportunity to try a different hotel that can keep the place fresh. Same with the Algarve been three times but to different resorts and accommodations, Greece 5 times but all different Islands.

Only ever been to the same hotel twice and that was in Salou. That worked fine for us as it was only a week and it meant we didnt waste time working out where everything was and could just get on with enjoying the holiday.

Well I've done gulet holidays for the past five years and this year will be my 8th visit to Turkey but only the second time I've visited the same resort (Dalyan). I didn't do the hol justice when I was there before, heatwave meant I was incredibly lazy.

I've also been to the same resort in Port Grimaud, France about 5 times but that's cos my friend works there and I get free accomodation. I have to say I got bored with it after that fifth time and changed.

I'm luckily able to go away again this year and am giving Sharm a try in November.

Every time someone at work asks me where I'm going and I say Turkey I think they envisage I'm gonig to the same place, but Turkey is vast and I haven't even tapped it yet!

I can definitely understand why people go back to the same place year on year. And why not?

We occassionally repeat holiday or do something close by. Usually this is because there are places or things that we didn't get round to doing first time and other things that we want to repeat.

I have revisited a quite a few places once or twice - I can't always do everything I want to do in a week or two weeks, so some places just beg a return trip at some point. I couldn't, however, return to the same resort/area year in and year out, I think I'd get bored and it'd feel too familiar. That's just me - I like difference from a holiday in the main.

The place I've visited the most is Goa, spread over around 20 years, and I've seen some changes, so that's given it different dimensions. Plus there's a whole state to go at.

Anyway, it's each to their own as far as I'm concerned. Whatever makes everyone happy spending their hard-earned cash! :)

I am able to have more than one holiday abroad each year so in September/October I always go somewhere new. This year it's Skiathos. Last year it was Sicily which I loved. However, in June I have to have my annual fix of Santa Eulalia in Ibiza (9th year this year!) For some reason it has got totally under my skin and I almost feel as if I'm meant to be there! It's difficult to explain why but perhaps others will understand. I usually return to the same hotel because I know the food and location is fantastic and there are plenty of people there who return every year. I am in my fifties and have been all over the place but there is something about Ibiza that is magical.

My in-laws go to the same hotel in Icmeler three times a year.

We decided we would go as it must be great if they were going so much. Oh my God!!!! What a mistake. It was terrible. :duh We still can't figure it out but they're off there again in 4 weeks time. :rofl

It just goes to show how different we all are and how different our expectations are. After all, wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same. ;)

I honestly never thought I'd ever visit the same place time and time again - until I discovered Icmeler. Like Librarianne with Santa Eulalia, Icmeler has just somehow found a place in my heart, and although there are many, many places in the world I'd still love to visit, I can see myself returning to Icmeler for many years to come. Can't quite explain what it is about the place which is so special, but I know it's not just me who feels that way - we've met loads of people who absolutely adore the place.
