I love going back to some of my favourites , I have been to Goa 5 times and have booked to go back next March , I have so many good friends there it really feels like home
I have been to Thailand 8 times , Marrakech twice, Thassos twice, Corfu 7 times, Zante twice, Crete 3 times, Cambodia twice , so yes if I like somewhere I will go back again, however I have at least 2 holidays a year and I have a rule that we must do at least 1 new place each year , this year we are off to Bali which is our 1st time
Every year, without fail, I go to some place in Italy, and usualy decide between two resorts
If you find a place you like, what's the harm in making it your holiday home from home? I really don't see the issue
Issue? Can't see where this topic has been into an issue.
As I stated in the original post each to there own .
This is purely a discussion topic please lets not look for argument .
We go on more than one holiday a year, and have the same idea as Shirleyv. We try to go to a new place every year but often also revisit somewhere else. A holiday is what you want it to be. If you are happy with one destination and want to return- why not?
I always go to other places in between and have been to Australia, lots of the Spanish resorts & islands, Rhodes and many of Europes city destination but I still can't wait to get back to Salou!!
3 Days and counting!

after our first visit to corfu a few years ago my hubby wanted to go again but i said no as there are many other places to go to, 2 years ago we decided to give zante a try, absolutely loved it, went again last year and that time hired a car so got to see more of the island and in 4 weeks we will be there again, same resort same hotel and again we will hire a car and go off sightseeing
albufeira march and october
magalluf june
i suppose if i had a bit more leave i could squeeze in somewhere new each year in say dec-jan
I always go to Cyprus at least once a year & as long as 1 destination from the 4 is new I'm happy and this then might become a favourite depending on whether I enjoyed it or not & therefore I'll probably go back.
It's a great way of seeing the world
I have been to Santa Ponsa in Majorca 4 times & three of those were spent in teh same private villa - no particular reason, apart from the price. Although I hadn't realised it until now we seem to go to the same country twice although different resorts - Zante twice, Mexico twice, Kos twice, Ibiza twice, only once for Santorini - so far- & this year its a 1st for the Dom rEp.
Jeez, no wonder i stay out of this section of the forums
I wouldn't slate anyone for going to the same place again, but I would say, massive world out there and loads of adventures to be had !!
Only ever been to the same hotel twice and that was in Salou. That worked fine for us as it was only a week and it meant we didnt waste time working out where everything was and could just get on with enjoying the holiday.
I've also been to the same resort in Port Grimaud, France about 5 times but that's cos my friend works there and I get free accomodation. I have to say I got bored with it after that fifth time and changed.
I'm luckily able to go away again this year and am giving Sharm a try in November.
Every time someone at work asks me where I'm going and I say Turkey I think they envisage I'm gonig to the same place, but Turkey is vast and I haven't even tapped it yet!
I can definitely understand why people go back to the same place year on year. And why not?
We occassionally repeat holiday or do something close by. Usually this is because there are places or things that we didn't get round to doing first time and other things that we want to repeat.
The place I've visited the most is Goa, spread over around 20 years, and I've seen some changes, so that's given it different dimensions. Plus there's a whole state to go at.
Anyway, it's each to their own as far as I'm concerned. Whatever makes everyone happy spending their hard-earned cash!
I am able to have more than one holiday abroad each year so in September/October I always go somewhere new. This year it's Skiathos. Last year it was Sicily which I loved. However, in June I have to have my annual fix of Santa Eulalia in Ibiza (9th year this year!) For some reason it has got totally under my skin and I almost feel as if I'm meant to be there! It's difficult to explain why but perhaps others will understand. I usually return to the same hotel because I know the food and location is fantastic and there are plenty of people there who return every year. I am in my fifties and have been all over the place but there is something about Ibiza that is magical.
We decided we would go as it must be great if they were going so much. Oh my God!!!! What a mistake. It was terrible. We still can't figure it out but they're off there again in 4 weeks time.
It just goes to show how different we all are and how different our expectations are. After all, wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same.
I honestly never thought I'd ever visit the same place time and time again - until I discovered Icmeler. Like Librarianne with Santa Eulalia, Icmeler has just somehow found a place in my heart, and although there are many, many places in the world I'd still love to visit, I can see myself returning to Icmeler for many years to come. Can't quite explain what it is about the place which is so special, but I know it's not just me who feels that way - we've met loads of people who absolutely adore the place.
