Hiya
We have usually gone the Greece all inclusive since having the children who will be 4 and 6. Dye to the prices we are considering Turkey. In general are the standards similar to Greece in a 4 or 5 star? Is the food usually similar ie mixture of everythinga nd anything? Our daughter has some health issues which has meant in the past spending 2 nights in a Crete hospital, would this be a problem???
Sorry for all the basic questions, but we'ed just like a feel for the place
tia
Food is generally 'hotel' food - as you said bits of everything. However, we found several more turkish options available, including their pizzas (topped with spicy mince, chicken and peppers, or other things like that), sticky sweet pastries, and lots of couscous/stuffed leaves etc. Gorgeous food, but there is something for even fussy eaters!
Don't know about any medical facilites. Occasionally you do hear of ear infections from waterparks, but we didn't get any.
Hope this helps. I would certainly reccomend Turkey.
many thanks, think we'll give it a go, can you recommed any places with really good beaches, we're looking for AI with soem water slides on a really nice beach, fussy I know!
Make sure you have good travel insurance cover as you can't use the eurpean health card in Turkey. Friends who have needed hospitals in Turkey have said the private ones are a good standard. In the public hospitals relatives are expected to do much of the nursing but if you have insurance you would not need to go to one of these. In my opinion food in Turkey is generally better than Greece. If you go all inclusive it tends to be buffets with a good selection. The last poster mentioned water parks, in my opinion health and saftey is not given much consideration and when busy accidents do happen. A friends child in Bodrum was pushed over the edge of a slide by some over excited Turkish children, he landed on rocks below and ended up in hospital with a damaged kidney. I have heard of several similar accidents so take care. Years ago we were hooked on Greek Islands. However since my first visit to Turkey 16 years ago I rarely go to Greece.

And read the reviews about hotels, In Alanya, Antalya, Side, Belek.
My advice is go to the Antalya region which has many 4 to 5 star hotels some of which are world class, Have a look on the hotel section, And read the reviews about hotels, In Alanya, Antalya, Side, Belek.
Have just booked Atlantis Hotel in Belek for 2 weeks for next year. Seems to get very good reviews
