The following items may be imported into the UK without incurring customs duty by travellers aged 17 years and over arriving from non-EU countries:
"¢ 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco. These can be combined provided travellers do not exceed their total tobacco allowance.
"¢ 4l of still wine.
"¢ 1l of alcoholic beverages stronger than 22% or 2l of fortified or sparkling wine or other liqueurs. These can be combined provided travellers do not exceed their total alcohol allowance.
"¢ 16l of beer.
"¢ Other goods including souvenirs up to the value of £340.
We always buy our cigarettes on the plane £22.00 carton of 200 or £32.00 for carton of 400 definately cheaper on plane rather than in resort plus the Dom Rep all depending on area you are staying does not sell English brand cigarettes only American.
Cant understand your friends not coming back with a tan last week as the weather has been 32/34deg since 13th June with only the odd thunderstorm overnight thats in the North of the island, so the weather has been great over there and is still continuing .
