We were on Cayo Coco a few years ago, best trips The Jungle Tour ( Self drive speed boats and snorkeling) Catamaran which includes lunch and snorkeling. Cant remember any prices we would have liked a trip to Havana but it involved a flight and overnight stay so was quite expensive. You can also get the little red bus that tours all the resort hotels on the 2 islands.

I dont think there is any problem leaving your either walking or car or bike hire there are no Cuban towns on the Islands all the staff live on the mainland its quite safe to travel there as well.
