Can anyone please recommend a good 4* family holiday complex on mainland Spain in a resort that is relatively close to an airport (max 1 hour) but not Benidorm, Torremolinos, Benalmadina, etc.
We are looking for a complex that is not too far from the beach and resort centre with a nice pool area, sports activities/ entertainment and a putting green/minigolf to keep our 2 boys (10 and 14) occupied. A 2 bed apartment in an aparthotel is preferable but as these are quite hard to find we would be happy with interconnecting rooms in a hotel.
The Viva and Protur Hotel chains in the Balearics are good examples but I haven't been able to find anything equivalent on the mainland. La Manga looks nice but I would imagine very expensive to eat out and sports activities would be an extra cost.
If anyone has any bright ideas I would be most grateful if you could let me know. We hope to go the last 2 weeks of August this year.
Many thanks in advance. Jan
If you are looking for self catering accommodation on a golf complex then Campoamor is a cheaper alternative to La Manga.
Does anyone know if there is anything suitable around the Torrevieja area as I've always wanted to go there. Other areas I've come across are Roquetas de Mar and Mojacar Playa - Just wondering if these are family resorts with a bit of life in the evening, i.e. a good selection of restaurants and bars, but not over the top with nightclubs, etc and also whether they have any good hotels/ aparthotels. If anyone has any experience of these resorts I would be most grateful for your comments. Thanks.
