Still trying to decide where to stay on Rhodes next year (2010)....

We are now looking at the Kalithea Horizon Royal hotel (at Kalithea)..

From the description of the hotel, it is paired with its sister hotel, the
Kalithea Mare, within large extensive grounds near to the/a beach near Kalithea Springs.

The hotel itself looks and reads fantasticand just what our doctor ordered.

Unfortunately, having read some reviews, it seems there may have been
a salmonella problem in the past, which may/may not have been attributed to the
hotel or perhaps the nearby sea water.
Recent reviews do not confirm this and during 2009 visits there is nothing but praise for
the hotel.

Whilst further investigating the hotel on Google maps, the Kalithea Horizon Royal
does not appear to have yet been built, whilst the 'Mare' does show up on the
satalite image.
Next to the 'Mare' complex there seems to be a 'sewage works' which raises a little
concern over the usual......smell, leakage into the sea etc.

There is no mention, as far as I have found, of these works in any of the reviews,
although there is one mention of sewage smells within the 'Horizon'.

Am I right in identifying the Horizon/Mare at this location and has anyone experienced any
such sewage work problems.

Any information on this or the hotel complex would be gratefully received
