Just a quick word of warning.
When returning to the UK from Malaga airport, there are some timeshare "salesmen/women" (the ones I saw were from from Club La Costa) approaching everyone in the departure queues offering free entance to win a hyoliday, juts give them your name and address, confirm you are a home owner etc etc.
This is at the boarding gate, not in the main concourse!
At no point do they tell you its a timeshare promotion, the only way you can identify that it is, is by their identity cards they have to wear.
Hi Denny
They are 'airside' as Denny says, so they must be authorised by AENA (Spanish aiport authority). Just say you live in Spain and they will leave you alone
Yes, they will have been authorised by the airport as they have official airport ID cards pinned to them.
Have come across others at Palma Mallorca and Alicant airports.
Yep, back a fortnight ago from Alicante airport - they were in the departure lounge and made out as if they were airport staff! Only after reading the "raffle" coupon did i realise it was a timeshare scam! Funny they called Friday there - told them I was paid off and wasnt interested lol
I must admit when I was in Tenerife a couple of years back, there were quite a few couples coming back from trips from evening out along the 'strip' complaining about the timeshare touts. I have no idea why, but I have never been approached by them. Some couples were approached many many times.
Yes they did approach us last year, and my husband filled in their form, we had a phone call a few months later to say we had won a holiday, !!! never bothered after that, thats when we realised it was a timeshare after all. But they do not tell you that. Be aware !!!
Approached today at Malaga airport in the boarding line, asked me if I was interested in winning a £3000 raffle prize when I told her that I was single she said sorry its only for couples or for people with partners so thats when I realised it was timeshare, it should not be allowed air side of airports as I thought it was a raffle that the airport were running.
Yes we were approached last week as we waited to board the plane.
i always say that i am a property owner and that seems to do the trick
Hi,flew home today from Alicante,"raffle tickets" were offered to me,more time share I suppose but because I had read this post I refused. I had been standing in the queue, waiting my turn at boarding gate when a british man said that he was a bit late could he possibly join the queue in front of me,instead of going to the back,I told him that we were all in the queue for quite some time and no he could go to the back and wait his turn too,he was not a happy bunny but the people in front and behind me were most impressed.T.
Knowing about the s$&m in Benidorm with people carrying clipboards and pretending to be carrying out an offical survey, but really it's time-share...... When I heard the word "Survey", I just said "Sorry, not interested" and she walked away.
Sanji
Yeah i experienced the exact same think on 25th june in malaga airport food hall. Just gave them a firm no thanks and they left us alone.
