Iron Bridge and Colebrookdale have some good museums etc, and Shrewsbury is a nice place for a look at the shops and a walk along the river.
Agree with above, also Ludlow itself is very nice can recommend the guided walks. Also not so far to one of my favourite spots Stokesay Castle.

Severn Valley railway is nearby (Bewdley is the nearest stop).
Walk on the Clee Hills. There's a tracking station up there if you fancy some Sci-Fi action. Brilliant views too.
If you have kids then there's the Safari Park at Bewdley.
