This sounds interesting, although the route is only on sale till the end of March 2010 at the moment. They're pushing it as a Christmas shopping destination and calling it Portugal's shopping capital. I've never been there but hubbie went on business a good few years ago and liked it.

Thought it might be a nice change next Spring to fly there, see the city and then meander down cross-country to the Algarve staying at some pousadas and seeing heritage towns on the way. Maybe a wine tour in the Alentejo too. I could possibly justify it because I have a very big birthday coming up in April (and it ain't 21)!

Would love to hear from anyone who's done anything like this.
