Hiya Debs,
The waterfalls are about a 15 minute walk from where the 4x4 drops you off. Getting to the falls is quite easy along a well made path, however, the falls themselves may present a problem for someone not steady on their feet as it can be a bit of scramble. But...if I remember correctly when you approach the falls, if you look over to the far right of the pool where the water exits the pool part of the falls, it is fairly flat. There were quite a few older people there but everyone helps you over the rocks. If you go to the left side of the pool, it is quite difficult to get in (unless you jump) and out of the water.
I have got a long video with some good footage of the falls that may help you decide....

I have to say when I visited in April this year the humidity was really high and that swim at the falls was the only time I felt fully refreshed...it was lovely.
I'm not staying at the MD next year as they don't do single rooms. Having said that, I'm doing a 2-week motorbike tour around Kerala and Tamil Nadu before coming up to Goa. My plan is just to get a cheap room for the week I'm in Goa but I will be visiting the MD as I got on very well with a few of the lads from the hotel.
I look forward to meeting you at the HT meet then! I went to one this year but my daughter wasn't to good and we left early. It'll be a different situation next year
I wish they served more than coffee though...
