We have ben in Goa at Christmas for the last two years. In Christmas 2007 we didn't stay at the Marinha Dourada but were speaking to people on the Beach who were staying there and on Christmas Eve they had a gala dinner and Father Christmas came over the lake on a boat.
Christmas last year we actually flew on Christmas day and stayed at the Marinha Dourada, there was a Gala Dinner on Christmas Eve the night before we arrived and a Gala Dinner and band on New Years Eve. If they have booked the Marinha Dourada as part of a package deal they will find that the Christmas and New Years Gala Dinner are usually paid for within the package price. Most of the hotels have entertainment over Christmas, in 2007 when we stayed at L'agoa Azul Father Christmas came to our disco and delivered us all a small gift.
If they are there fore New Years eve the Beach parties are absolutely awesome !!! They will surely have a good time, we're flying out this year on 26th December - Roll on !!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks very much Daves wife, that really helps as they don`t know what to expect, they usually spend xmas in Lanzorote,so goa will be so different, they are so excited after all my raving on the subject,
I had a wee look to see if what we have about christmas. Its impossible to direct you to just one thread but go to Search and stick Christmas in, tick Goa and make sure you have chosen threads and not posts. You will get a fair bit to help you there
thanks fiona, iwill give it a try,but i`m rubbish on this thing
In the meantime I'm sure others will give you their experiences.
The staff at the hotel will be more excited than the guests.
Christmas Father will put in an appearance somewhere.
And all the taxi drivers have Jingle Bells playing when they reverse their taxis!!
thanks a million guys,i`m passing on all these little snippets, the`re lapping it up
debs, at christmas and new year you can hardly move in Goa. The road from baga to calangute is at gridlock with all the indian tourists there for the party season. Personally I would stay away at this time of year, but everyone likes different things
You often get groups of children from the local schools, all dressed in their Sunday best, coming to the hotels and singing carols.
