Hi, thanks to Goanvoice, I came across the news that the Goa govt might be enforcing the Epidemic control Act (ECA), 1897 once the state's busy tourism season gets underway in October...

The epidemic act gives health authorities the power to forcibly admit and treat any swine flu patient at a government-run hospital.

Yes government hospital, on the same subject I got a call last night from the slum and ended up taking a girl there who had fever and leg pain, while I was thee a patient came in who had an accident and the nurse was putting a needle in him, dropped it on the floor, put it in again, dropped it on the floor... I really don't want to know what state the government hospital floors are in... :s

Hmm come on holiday and spend your time in a government hospital, sounds pleasent....

Just what we wanted to hear (NOT)!

If I decide to go I think I shall invest in one of those medical kits that include hypodermic needles etc at least I will know it's sterile (as long as they don't drop it)!

Was thinking same lines fizzy, at least I'm fortunate to be in the profession to get those sort of things.

I don't go anywhere in the world without my 'just in case' medical stuff.
