If you like the smell of coconut Hawaiian Tropic do a lovely Coconut Body Butter it says it's intensely moisturising and helps prolong your tan, or if coconut isn't your thing they also do Lime Colada Body Butter.

Can anyone advise me what I can use to get the tips of my fingernails whiter.
I don't want a french manicure look but just for them to a healthier colour.
Thanks in anticipation. x

You can buy white pencils especially made for this purpose, you should find them on the make up stand, with the nail varnish and manicure stuff.

Thanks Miss - I hope I will have the whitest tips on holiday!!!

I have bought 2 different products of nail polish remover pads and they haven't removed the varniish -
any recomendations for that as well?

Another query for a hairdresser please - I had my hair coloured yesterday and instead of it being goldenish(!) blonde, it is just blank ash with no other colour expect for a blackish tinge (sounds lovely, doesn't it?) - think the base colour might have been to dark.
Today I bought shamppo and conditioner for blonde hair which says ' to enhance your blonde tones'. Do you think that should improve it? Again, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Can't believe I am over 50 years of age and I still need help but after reading how some people plan to look so beautiful when at the airport and on holiday, I thought I should do my bit!!!

Once again, thanks.

Suzie,

I have never got on with nail varnish remover pads either...... tried them....... and like you I have found the nail varnish stays put, so I have gone back to bottles of liquid remover and cotton balls.

I use that sort of shampoo and conditioner and it brings my highlights up, mind you when you get into the sun, I always find my hair gets even blonder lol

Us women of a certain age must keep up our appearances even at airports, so glad you are not letting the side down.!!!!

Thanks gals.
Hope I won't be recognised at the airport next week - with my grey hair and whiteer than white finger tips!!!
Reminds me a bit of Friends - the one where Ross got his teeth whitened. Do you remember that one?

Hey Suzie....ditch those remover pads, they're useless compared to proper remover in a bottle, I only use the pads on Holiday for a quick fix. Those tablets really help remove varnish stain as well (when you don't use an undercoat varnish and your nails yellow as a result :duh Sally Hansen do an excellent nail varnish remover that really shifts every bit.

I LOVE the John Frieda blonde range for lifting your highlights or if you can stretch to it try the Redken (salon product) blonde range it's fantabulous.

I'm sure you wouldn't let the side down en route to your hols :tup Either way I know you'll smell divine :rofl ;)

Miss, thak made me smile! We both know what you mean. Shame I can't live up to the name of the perfume though.
Wonder if anyone else can guess what is it?
Don't think there is one called 'the old wrinklie'.

Assuming that you had it coloured professionally, I wouldn't try to do anything yourself - go back to the hairdresser and explain that you are not happy with the result and that it didn't turn out as you expected. Whenever this has happened to me I've found them more than willing to rectify the result free of charge. Admittedly, I have been going to the same hairdresser for some time - and have been quite adventurous with my colour choices over that time! But in the current climate no hairdresser can afford to have a dissatisfied customer - they'll want to try and do as much as possible to ensure not only that you might make appointments with them in future but that you don't go round badmouthing them to other potential customers too.

If you are looking for a shampoo to brighten your hair the best one to use is Aveda Blue Malva, it really does work and works even better with the Blue Malva conditioner. You can get it from most big department stores or online. I really hate to be without it.

Thanks SMa. Thought about that but the only trouble is that she is expecting her first baby tomorrow so she has more important things to concern herself about than me and my hair!!!!

Funny really because I always have my hair coloured just before I go on holiday and then worry about the sun getting to it and taking the colour out but this time I will be hoping that it does!

Thanks to you all. x

Hi Suzie I agree with Chelle Aveda is brilliant for coloured or treated hair, I buy mine on the net, excellent stuff, for me i have found it better than high street brands, but it is a little more though.

Very interesting, Miss Pink. But I had the impression you were a natural blonde stunner who resembled Marilyn Monroe with a touch of Lady Ga Ga!! Goes to show what imagination can do, eh? :rofl

oh i feel left out i went brunette couple weeks ago after being blonde for ages! Trip to hairdressers!!

Hi Lucy

Used to buy from QVC and stocked up as I knew they don't hold stock all the time for this brand, however a friend of mine actually buys direct from them as
HERE and the prices are a little more on here than QVC. I intend to give these a try when stocks run out, or check back on QVC on their Beauty days and buy from them.
