hi guys,, im going back to malta in sept 09, am i better off buying euro in the uk or malta, the best exchange rate ive seen here is €1.15 to £1.00
thanks in advance
Thats impossible to answer - on any one day, the rate tends to be a little better in Malta than in the UK, but nobody knows whether the rate will be higher or lower than now in September.
I seem to remember in a previous discussion last year someone said it would acheive 1.40. rather than 1.20. as you say nobody knows.
and another armchair pundit said it would drop to parity - just shows how easy it is to get it wrong
. to some it did briefly.
the rate tends to be a little better in Malta
cheers gozomark, thats what i was wondering
thanks everyone
We have found that we get the best price anywhere in Europe by using our Nation Wide card for withdrawals in ATM machines. We have been getting 1.17 euros to the pound in Mallorca when the Cash exchange shops were offering 1.13. We will be taking this card to Malta in 2 weeks (can't wait!)
Or fall further!
Could well the end of travel to Europe as we know it.
