Hi everyone
I'm planning a holiday to Majorca with James Villas for 4 adults and a 7 year old child. The villa we're interested in is at Calonge, which I believe is a few kilometres outside Cala d'Or. We want a quiet place (no discos etc). Does anyone know anything about this place? We normally go to Pollensa area, we haven't been to Cala d'Or for years, since a holiday in Porto Petro about 10 years ago! Any information is gratefully received.
Best wishes

We stayed near Cala Dor last year and enjoyed it very much. The beaches are lovely and they have some lovely restaurants. It can be as busy or as quiet as you like. We are in our 50's and enjoy eating out - some fantastic meals! I didn't notice noisy clubs etc but I suspect it was because we weren't looking for that type of thing. I researched on this forum before I booked and found it to be a very useful tool.
Thanks for that Starkeybabe. We don't want an area too "lively"! We love Majorca - we've had several happy holidays there, but recently we've tended to visit the north of the island. It's good to hear that Cala d'Or hasn't changed too much. We will be 2 people in their 60s, 2 people in their 30s/40s and a 7 year old child. One thing I do remember from years ago was some kind of animal park or zoo, something like that. I think it was near Palma. Does anyone know of it?
Calonge is a lovely little place, very quiet, there are two restaurants which are fab, one is Zab which is a thia/italian, the food is gorgeous and staff are very nice, you can sit inside or outside in a lovely courtyard which has it's own herbs and strawberries growing in pots. The other is La Casina, the courtyard is fantastic, very authentic, the menu has a good selection from meats to pasta and pizza. there is also a few nice gift shops in the village. Calonge is about 5mins by car in to cala dor, you should have a look at Cala Egos which is at the other side of cala dor marina. Have a lovely holiday
Many thanks titch - that's brilliant! I've now booked the villa in Calonge for next August and can hardly wait. It's been 4 years since my last visit to Majorca and, after the last 2 summers in England, we really need some sun!
