Never having ventured to the Costa Del Sol before we are off to Benalmadena in September for a change.
As Tenerife veterans and having been there in May we thought it was time for a change and a shorter flight , after a very very wet Benidorm last September (was supposed to be sunny Tenerife until the XL farce happened) we thought we would try somewhere further south in hope of better weather.
We are staying at the Las Arenas and have heard/read some decent reviews so looking forward to it.
Question time:
Can you get the train from the airport to Benalmadena been told its cheaper than a taxi or using Resort Hopper, is it a the best way to get there and does anybody know the prices .?
How central to everything is Las Arenas ?.
Is the weather as good as we've been lead to believe ?.
What is the entertainment like, i.e. bands & acts in bars etc. ?.
Any recommendations on bars/pubs or eateries ?.
Appreciate any feedback.
if I remember correct you cross over the airport road and follow the signs & people pulling cases!!
through to the station there are few steps & a walk way involved to get there but it's not to bad.
you have to pay @ the machine as you get to the platform. cost us about €2 each so very cheap
from there to Benalmadena. try doing a google search map to get your bearings of locations.
sorry car'nt help on your exact location but Benalmadena is a lovely resort with plenty to do.
weather is normaly very good in september{hope it still is we go sept 13th!!}
Entertainment wise suppose will depend on how many tourists are there alot of people are saying it's quieter
than normal so Hotel's my offer better.
easy to get about by local buses, torremolinos, fuengerola, almost continues from Benalmadena
again great resorts, Marbella can be reached by bus. Andalucia.com have a Daily weather report.
in english.if you like Carboot sales try Fuengerola carboot it's MASSIVE!! Think it was on mid week
not 100% sure now. Hope you love it as much as we do.
Enjoy your Holiday.
thing is you have got to get to your hotel from train station.so Resort Hopper would drop you off right outside your hotel.less hassle as well.
Not heard of this sounds like it may be a alternative to the train for us.
Thanks. {save me ending up like this}L.OL.

Train to Arroyo from Airport around €1.45, then taxi from Arroyo de Meil down to LA will cost around €8 for 2.. plus 2 cases..LA is central to everything, beach, bars, cafe's, restaurants, Paloma Park and 5-8mins walk to clubs with live entertainment..weather should be around 28c..so enjoy your stay..
I see Resort Hopper have had a makeover/upgrade.
We've used it all over the Canaries and the Balearics never had any problems regardless off 'varied' arrival departure times.
Highly recommend them.
