Really, I was thinking of Bodrum for some. Ive been looking at so many places, my head is in bits, and we are still not much further forward. Thanks for that tho.

At a push you could travel to Datca from Bodrum, during the high season there are 2 ferries daily 9.30 and 17.30. trip is about 2 hours and is fairly low cost. However if your flight doesn't tie up with the ferry times it could mean you are hanging around for a while or even having to spend the night in Bodrum. Dalaman to Datca is probably the most convenient. Our transfer car did it in an all time record of 2 hours and 4 minutes this morning. He broke a few speed limits though! I would prefer a more leisurely journey.

I have stayed in Burak apartments in Turunc and can highly recommend them. They are very central to everything (as are the Gozdem Apart 2 and the Rose apartments), clean and well maintained and it has it's own pool with most apartments overlooking it. The owner and his wife are very very welcoming and can also organise transfers to and from Dalaman airport. There are many bars (Habit is recommended) and restuarants (Musti's as mentioned before!) close by and all on the flat and the beach is about a 2 minute walk away. No mountain walking required!
